Odion Ighalo was on target again, scoring twice as he helped Al-Hilal power past Al-Khaleej with a 2-0 victory.
Al-Za'eem played host to their rivals and needed all three points to keep pace with those above them on the table. In what was a tightly contested game, the individual brilliance of Ighalo was the difference.
How it happened
The game started slowly, but the hosts soon started to dictate the proceedings. Al-Hilal had chance after chance, but they could not find an opener until the 39th minute after a brilliant piece of footwork by Ighalo wriggling past defenders before releasing a thunderous shot with his weak foot.

The Nigerian striker made it two just before the break from the penalty spot. He made no mistake at all, releasing a powerful shot into the top left corner.

The second-half was barren, but Ighalo’s first-half brace was enough to ensure maximum points for his side.
Ighalo's game by numbers
The former Watford and Granada striker had a man-of-the-match type performance, singlehandedly earning his side the maximum points.
Other than his two goals, Ighalo had two other shots, one was blocked, and the other went wide. He had 24 touches of the ball and maintained an 87% pass completion rate.
