If you watched the last game, you’d know who has better jollof — Super Eagles star taunts Ghana

After edging Ghana 2-1 in a thrilling Unity Cup semifinal clash in London, Nigeria’s Super Eagles are riding high, and winger Moses Simon made sure to let the world know.

Following Nigeria’s victory on the pitch, the jollof rice rivalry debate was reheated and Simon was more than happy to throw a little pepper into the pot.

When asked about Nigeria’s fiercest football rival, Simon didn’t hesitate to respond stating, “I’d say Ghana, because we’re very close, and we always argue about jollof rice!”

Of course, the banter wasn’t just kitchen talk. Nigeria’s win over Ghana at the Gtech Community Stadium gave Simon all the bragging rights he needed.

Switching to offense, Simon bragged, “If you watched the last game, you’d know who has it [the better jollof].”

The Nantes star, who just wrapped up a stellar season in Ligue 1 with eight goals and ten assists, featured off the bench in that match. And even though he didn’t start, he certainly found a way to make noise off the pitch.

While the playful jabs at Ghana brought laughs, Simon was all business when speaking about Saturday’s final.

The 29-year-old acknowledged that Jamaica are no walkovers, crediting their strong squad and sharp coaching.

Speaking ahead of the final against the Reggae Boys, Simon said, “Beating them in the final won’t be easy.”

But confidence is still high in the Super Eagles camp, and Simon, playing his first tournament in the UK, is eager to make a bigger impact in the final.
