Moses Simon rose above players considered by some to be miles above him to rank as one of Europe's best
Nigeria’s Moses Simon was ranked as one of the best dribblers in Europe’s top seven leagues in the 2024/25 season.
Simon officially entered elite territory after an incredible 2024/25 Ligue 1 season that has seen the Super Eagles star cement his Nantes legacy.
Simon among Europe’s best
According to stats-gatherer Data MB, Simon has the fourth-most successful dribbles in Europe’s top seven leagues, one position and one dribble behind Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal topped the list of dribblers, with 224 successful take-ons, while Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku came in second ahead of Vinicius Junior and Simon, with West Ham’s Ghanaian forward Mohamed Kudus rounding up the top five.
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe could only finish in 19th place, while Bayern Munich star Michael Olise was only able to clinch a joint-seventh spot.
Simon among best players in France
Apart from being among the best dribblers in European football this season, Simon has been one of the best performers in the Ligue 1 as well.
With eight goals, 10 assists and 14 big chances created, Simon was Nantes’ most important player as the Canaries survived another season in the top flight.
The Super Eagles star was nominated for the Marc-Vivien Foe award as one of the best African players in France, narrowly missing out to PSG’s Achraf Hakimi in the end.
