Turkish football analyst Kaya Cilingiroglu has warned Galatasaray against proceeding with the signing of Victor Osimhen under the current conditions, as they risk financial harm.

The Cim-Bom have already secured agreement on the player side and are now in negotiations with Napoli for Osimhen. While the Partenopei are proving difficult, Galatasaray are determined to land their man.

What Cilingiroglu said

Napoli are demanding €75 million for Osimhen and are not budging on the valuation. Galatasaray are prepared to match the request but on more favourable terms. Their current offer has them proposing a €40 million payment upfront, with the remaining €35 million paid in two instalments.

Including the reported €16 million salary they have agreed to pay the Nigerian, the deal promises to be a capital-intensive one. Cilingiroglu believes that Galatasaray are better served spreading the money across multiple signings.

"Despite being champions, Galatasaray will earn €8 million in broadcast revenue,” he said, per GsGazette. “Even an ordinary team will earn €180 million in the FIFA Club World Cup.

“They say everything is going well and they're winning the championship, but if you pay €75 for Osimhen, almost a third of the Florya project will go there. I think Dursun Özbek is being calm and honest.

“If it were me, I wouldn't buy him. Even Premier League teams couldn't come up with that amount. I'd buy three top-tier players instead.

“You're going to pay him €20 million a year. I'd say the same thing even if it were Haaland. The total package is €135 million. I'm not saying don't buy Osimhen. I'm saying don't buy him at that price."

Cilingiroglu’s worries are justified when one considers that Galatasaray are only permitted to spend €130 million this fiscal year. There is a plausible risk that the TFF would prevent them from registering Victor Osimhen should they complete the deal
