'I won two without him' - Bernardo Silva refuses to blame injured star for Man City struggles
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City defeated West Ham 4-1 to make it consecutive wins for the first time since October last year.
However, as far as the title is concerned, the damage has already been done as City are currently way off the pace.
After the win over West Ham, Bernardo Silva was asked about the situation and if the long-term injury to Rodri derailed their season.
The 30-year-old said (via City Xtra);
“I won two Premier Leagues without Rodri. Kevin De Bruyne, who is in my opinion, and probably many, the best player in the history of Man City and one of the best in the Premier League, spent at least six months injured in two of the six titles we won.
"Of course Rodri is important, there is no player like him in the world.
"The main reason [for our poor performances] is not missing him, we didn’t have defenders.
"Individually we needed to do a little more and realise we weren’t at the level..."
