I thank them — Michael Carrick reveals secret to overturning Man United's form
Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has credited his team and the backroom staff for his immediate impact at Old Trafford, after they beat Arsenal to move into the top four.
The former Red Devil midfielder coached his side to a 3–2 win against league leaders, Arsenal, at the Emirates Stadium, only a week after they triumphed in the Manchester derby against Pep Guardiola's City.
Those consecutive victories—in as many games in the dugout—against the teams currently placed first and second on the Premier League log signal a resurgence after consistent levels of inconsistencies under erstwhile coach Ruben Amorim.
What Michael Carrick said
Following the hard-fought victory against Arsenal, Carrick was asked to explain how he has managed to turn Manchester United’s fortune around in such a short spell, and he had the following to say:
“I give a lot of credit to the staff and players in terms of how much they've invested and how much they've bought into it,” he said, per the BBC. “It's alright trying to help them and say certain things but they've got to live it and they have done.
"You can see that with boys coming off the bench and it's a collective feeling. It's great when it comes together and everyone's in it and we can celebrate with the fans at the end.
“It's important and a big moment. My kids were in there, they're not kids anymore, that in itself is emotional, it's the passion, the excitement of these types of games and to come out on top is fantastic."
