‘I just try to mix it’ - Moses Simon reacts to fans calling him an 'automobile' player
Moses Simon has started the new season in top form, having had four goal contributions for Nantes in the first seven games.
The exceptional performance by the Nigerian international earned him the August Player of the Month award from Nantes.
The winger, who has been officially recognised as one of the fastest players in the French Ligue 1, is largely known for his speed and skill on the flank.
Simon speaks about his ability
Simon has responded to the name "automobile" by emphasising that his quickness enhances his ability to make decisions whether or not he has the ball in his hands.
Speaking with Onrise TV, Simon said, "I would say the speed factor because I know I have to dribble when I have the ball. Without the ball I have to run.
"When I know the opponent can run, then I can dribble him. When I know he can try to stop me then I can run so I just try to mix it."
The Super Eagles star gave a brief explanation on when he needs to run with the ball or when he needs to dribble.
Meanwhile, Simon has had great moments since joining Nantes in 2019, having surpassed the late Emiliano Sala to become Nantes' most influential player since gaining promotion to Ligue 1 in 2013.
The forward has recorded his 29th career assist in Ligue 1 for the French club and still gunning for more.
He is set to take his form to the Nigeria national team as they face Libya in Uyo for their AFCON qualifiers.
