Arteta backs Rice for Ballon d'Or

When questioned about Rice's potential to win football's most prestigious individual award, Arteta was optimistic. "I hope so.

“That would mean that we have won a lot," he said. "Normally, it is very much related to trophies. Again, I think he was immense the other day.

“I think he's been immense since the start of the season. He’s an incredible and crucial player for us."

The Arsenal star helped the Gunners secure a comfortable 3-1 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League and was given the man of the match award for his performance.
