I hate you! — Barcelona star accuses Disneyland of discrimination
Barcelona forward Raphinha has lashed out angrily at Disneyland Paris, accusing a costume park employee of ignoring his young son in a character meet-and-greet.
The 28-year-old winger is currently with the Brazilian national team and was involved in the 3-0 World Cup qualifier victory over Chile. However, his family seems to be in France, where the recorded incident happened.
The details
About an hour ago, Raphinha shared clips and pictures on his Instagram story, showing a costumed Disneyland employee seemingly snubbing his two-year-old son, Gael, while appearing to attend to other children in the vicinity.
The clips show Gael gesturing to the costumed staff in an attempt to hug him. More clips also showed an adult carrying the boy towards the Disneyland costumed employee and calling his attention, but to no avail.
Raphinha, who was not in attendance, going by the clips, and is on national team duty, is evidently angry about the incident and he suggested that his child was racially discriminated against and used other strong language like “I h*te you, Disneyland Paris,” and “This employee is sh*t. This employee is st*pid.
“Your employees are a disgrace,” he said on his IG story. “You shouldn't treat people like that, especially a CHILD. You're supposed to make children happy, not snub a child. I prefer to say it was snubbing, to say nothing else. You're a disgrace.”
“I understand the fatigue of those who work with this, but why we're all those children embraced and my son wasn't? He just wanted to say hi and a hug. Lucky for you, he doesn't understand.”
At the time of writing, neither Disneyland Paris, Raphinha, his club Barcelona, nor the Brazil football authorities have put out an official statement.
