‘I am at a club and city I absolutely love’ — Osimhen shuts down Chelsea, Barcelona rumours
Victor Osimhen has poured cold water on mounting transfer speculation linking him with Europe’s elite, insisting he is fully committed to Galatasaray.
The Nigerian striker made his feelings clear after playing a starring role in the club’s 5-2 UEFA Champions League win over Juventus.
Osimhen remains committed to Galatasaray future
Ahead of the emphatic European victory, in which he registered two assists, Osimhen addressed rumours connecting him with Chelsea, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
“I am at a club and city I absolutely love,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’ve been lucky to find Galatasaray on my way.
“There’s nothing similar to Gala, the love from the fans… We did great in Turkey, now it’s time to show our quality in Europe.”
Despite reported interest across Spain and England, Galatasaray are in a strong position, having set a hefty valuation, reportedly around €80 million, after signing him permanently from Napoli last summer.
European giants circle as Mikel backs Chelsea move
Interest in Osimhen has intensified following his prolific form in Istanbul, where he recently surpassed 200 career goals.
Barcelona are said to view him as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, while Atletico Madrid are monitoring his situation amid uncertainty over their current forwards.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel believes his old club should make a decisive move. “Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything,” Mikel said.
For now, however, Osimhen’s focus remains firmly on Galatasaray, and making his mark in Europe with the Cimbom.
