'He will go to Manchester City' — Brazil legend Rivaldo warns Arsenal about potential signing
Arsenal's hopes of signing Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes this summer could be dealt a significant blow, according to Barcelona legend Rivaldo.
The Brazilian midfielder has been on Arsenal's radar for some time, but Rivaldo warns that Manchester City's interest in Guimaraes could sway the move in their favour.
With Thomas Partey and Jorginho's futures at the Emirates uncertain, the Gunners are desperate to bolster their midfield options.
Guimaraes, who has been outstanding in two and a half seasons at Newcastle, is seen as a prime target.
Rivaldo believes Bruno Guimares will snub Arsenal for Man City
However, Rivaldo believes the 24-year-old may be swayed by the prospect of playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
“Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City. He’s a great player and has been standing out this season,” remarked Rivaldo in an interview with Betfair.
"It’s clear that nowadays everyone wants to play for Manchester City because they have Pep Guardiola and a very tight and harmonious team.
“I believe that if Guimaraes leaves Newcastle, he will choose to go to Manchester City.”
