He is so dangerous — Benfica boss singles out one Chelsea star ahead of Club World Cup clash
Benfica head coach Bruno Lage has showered praise on Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup last-16 showdown on Saturday night.
Lage hailed Neto as a “dangerous footballer” and called Fernandez one of the “best midfielders” in the world.
“There were actually rumours before Enzo [Fernandez] joined Chelsea that he was going to join me at Wolves,” Lage revealed in his pre-match press conference.
“In terms of money, Chelsea have one of the best midfielders in the world [in the person of Fernandez, but the Chelsea player that I really know is Pedro Neto. He is so dangerous because he can go either way [left or right] on the ball.”
Fernandez, who shone for Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, joined Chelsea from Benfica two years ago. Neto moved to the Blues from Wolverhampton Wanderers last year.
Both teams are known for their attacking flair, setting the stage for a thrilling, high-energy clash that could go down to the wire.
