Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick raved about Pedri, particularly his connection with Frenkie de Jong. He also noted that the former Las Palmas star was emerging as a leader in the squad. 

Pedri has been the most consistent player in the Barcelona squad. A couple of weeks ago, he earned plaudits from the likes of Paul Scholes for his performances, and today, he helped the Blaugrana go top of the log with a victory against Real Sociedad. 

The German tactician is a big fan of Pedri, hailing his qualities and noting the specific ways in which he helps them achieve their ambitions, after the win against Real Sociedad.  

”Pedri is special. He’s a great player. He’s getting better at being a leader,” he said, per Football Espana. “He’s a crazy player, very important. 

“When he’s on the pitch, he’s everywhere. He gives us control of the ball and knows what position he needs to be in. He’s very good. Together with Frenkie, they’ve organised the team very well. 

“They’re exceptional players and very well connected. They know how they want to play; they know each other... it’s fantastic to see this connection.

“With this partnership, it’s harder to pressure us, and this gives us more possession, creates more space, and that’s the most important thing. I’m very proud of the team.”
