‘He did not deny it’ - Galatasaray insider reveals club’s interest in Super Eagles’ Onyedika
Onyedika, who currently plays for Club Brugge, has emerged as a prominent name linked with a move to the Istanbul-based club.
Since moving to Club Brugge from FC Midtjylland in 2022, Onyedika has become a vital part of the team.
The midfielder has made 165 appearances for the Belgian side, contributing eight goals and five assists.
Galatasaray wants Onyedika
The club's vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu, recently stated that Galatasaray is actively searching for a new midfielder, fuelling speculation about potential targets.
This is not the first time the FC Ebedei academy graduate has attracted attention from top European clubs.
Last August, Eintracht Frankfurt, AS Monaco, and Galatasaray all showed interest, though a transfer did not materialise before the summer window closed.
Recent reports from Turkey have added weight to the rumours. Galatasaray insider Arda Özkurt revealed he contacted a representative from Onyedika's management agency to verify the links.
"I spoke to an authorised representative from Raphael Onyedika's management company," Özkurt stated, as reported by Haber Sarı Kırmızı. "When I asked about Galatasaray's interest in Onyedika, he did not deny it."
However, the representative indicated that official talks have not yet begun. "When I later asked about Club Brugge's expectations, the response I received was, 'No one has contacted us yet; we don't know their expectations.'"
Onyedika, who has 18 months left on his contract with Club Brugge, is currently with the Nigerian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
