Hazard reveals 3 conditions Mbappé must meet to win 2026 Ballon d’Or
Former Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has expressed strong confidence that Kylian Mbappé will eventually claim football’s most prestigious individual prize, the Ballon d’Or.
According to Hazard, the French superstar must achieve three major milestones to secure the 2026 award.
What Hazard said
Speaking in an interview with TeleFoot, Hazard made it clear that Mbappé’s talent is not in question, insisting that winning the Ballon d’Or is only a matter of time for the Real Madrid forward.
Hazard emphasised that team trophies at the club level will play a decisive role in Mbappé’s Ballon d’Or ambitions. Winning the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish LaLiga title with Real Madrid are seen as crucial milestones that could elevate his candidacy above the competition.
He said, “Mbappé and Ballon d’Or? He will win the Ballon d’Or. He needs to win the Champions League, La Liga, or go far in the World Cup.”
In addition to club success, Hazard highlighted the importance of international tournaments, noting that a strong World Cup campaign with France could significantly boost Mbappé’s chances.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, a deep run, or another title could prove decisive in Ballon d’Or voting.
