Harden and Embiid to miss Sixers' preseason opener in Boston

Philadelphia 76ers star duo James Harden and Joel Embiid wil miss the team's opening pre-season game against the Celtics.

James Harden and Joel Embiid will be unavailable for Sunday night’s exhibition contest against the Celtics at TD Garden.

After requesting a trade this summer and then missing media day and Day 1 of training camp, Harden has participated in the Sixers’ last four practices.

“He’s here, and his attitude and energy today allowed everybody to understand that he wants to go out there and compete with us, and his attitude has been great for the team” Joel Embiid said after Day 3 of the Sixers’ camp in Fort Collins, Colorado.
