Former Vice President and Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has stepped up his support for Harambee Stars fans, announcing that he will sponsor 1,000 members of the Kenya Football Fans Federation (KEFOFA) to attend the team’s CHAN 2024 quarter-final against Madagascar at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Musyoka, who serves as KEFOFA’s patron, has already been sponsoring 500 fans per match since Stars’ second group game against Angola, including providing them with official jerseys.

With the stakes higher than ever, he has doubled his commitment—ensuring that even more supporters, particularly from marginalized communities, will be part of the historic night.

KEFOFA Chairman Francis Liboyi hailed the gesture as more than just financial aid, but a reflection of national unity.

“This is more than a sporting milestone—it is a national triumph,” Liboyi told Pulse Sports.

“The Harambee Stars have ignited a flame of belief in every Kenyan fan. Their unity, discipline, and passion reflect the very values KEFOFA stands for.”

Liboyi also praised the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and President William Ruto’s government for embracing KEFOFA’s initiatives, particularly the creation of fan zones for those unable to access the stadium.

“We urge all fans to rally behind the team as we prepare for the quarter-finals. Let’s fill Kasarani, let’s raise our voices, and let’s make history together,” he said.

KEFOFA has become central to Kenya’s CHAN story, mobilizing fans, amplifying atmospheres, and sustaining the momentum behind the team.

How CHAN 2024 Has Helped KEFOFA Grow

From branded campaigns to grassroots activations, the federation has ensured that Harambee Stars feel the unwavering energy of their “12th man.”

So far, the tournament has seen KEFOFA’s membership soar to 50,000 registered supporters, with the goal of surpassing 100,000 if Harambee Stars go all the way.

Fans are encouraged to sign up at www.kefofa.co.ke to be part of the growing movement.

As Stars prepare for their showdown with Madagascar, the message from KEFOFA remains clear: whether at Kasarani or beyond, Kenyans must stand together.

“Support, celebrate, and elevate our national team,” Liboyi concluded.
