Harambee Stars Abroad: Zack Vyner Puts in Great Shift But Bristol City Fall to Millwall Again
Harambee Stars defender Zack Vyner was on the losing end in the English Championship when his club Bristol City suffered a second loss in a month to Millwall.
Substitute Macaulay Langstaff was the hero for Millwall, scoring an 81st-minute winner to secure a 2-1 victory over Bristol for the second time in a month.
The Lions took an early lead through Camiel Neghli, but Adam Randell's first goal for the Robins brought the visitors level shortly after halftime. Despite Bristol City dominating possession and creating far more chances, Millwall's clinical finishing proved decisive, with both of their shots on goal finding the net.
The result completes a league double for Millwall over the Robins, a feat they have achieved only once before this century. The win also lifts the London club to fifth in the table as 2025 draws to a close, while Bristol City sits in eighth.
Vyner’s Late Effort Fails to Pay Off
Vyner started on the right of a three-man defence for Bristol and had a chance to score the leveler late in the game but saw his effort kept out.
As Bristol desperately pushed for an equaliser in the dying moments, Ross McCrorie sent a right-footed shot from outside the box over the bar in the final seconds. Earlier in stoppage time, Vyner had a header blocked following a corner, as the visitors threw everything forward.
Millwall also had opportunities to seal the game on the counter-attack. Mihailo Ivanovic came close with a shot that narrowly missed the right post after a swift break, and another attempt from the Serbian striker sailed too high. The home side also saw efforts from Thierno Ballo and Camiel Neghli blocked as the game became stretched.
The defeat ended Bristol’s two-game winning run and they are now in eighth place on 36 points from 24 matches, two behind Watford, who occupy the final playoff position in sixth.
