Defending FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia secured a vital 2-0 victory over Bandari FC at Dandora Stadium, keeping their title defence on track as they chase league leaders Kenya Police and second-placed Tusker FC.

The much-needed win was set in motion early in the 14th minute when Alpha Onyango struck the opener for K’Ogalo, sending the home fans into celebration.

Gor Mahia maintained their dominance throughout the match, controlling possession and pressing forward against a resilient Bandari side.

As the game neared its conclusion, Chris Ochieng’ sealed the victory in the 88th minute with a brilliant solo effort, dribbling past defenders before slotting home a well-placed shot.

The late goal ensured Gor Mahia claimed all three points and continued their push at the top of the table.

With this win, the champions remain in the title race, keeping the pressure on their closest rivals.

Kenya Police lead the charge with 45 points followed by Tusker FC sitting on 44 points while Gor Mahia sit on 42 points.

Most crucially, the FKFPL record champions have a game in hand on both rivals that could prove decisive in the title race.
