Galatasaray must sell Osimhen — Expert gives one condition in which Turkish champions should part with Super Eagles ace
Turkish football analyst Ahmet Cakar does not believe Victor Osimhen should have a “not for sale” status at Galatasaray, especially if the club receives a sizable bid. However, he fears the Nigeria international might turn it down, prioritising a Galatasaray stay.
The 26-year-old rejected sizeable bids from Saudi Arabia to join Galatasaray towards the end of the summer transfer window, a move which ensures he pockets around €21 million annually.
What Cakar said
Osimhen is currently the top scorer in the Champions League with six goals in three matches. Hence, there have been discussions surrounding his future and a possible price tag.
"If any European team offers €200 million for Osimhen, Galatasaray should sell him,” Cakar contributed to the conversation, per GsGazette. “If they don't, they're a sucker. In return, maybe Osimhen won't leave. He turned down twice the salary in Saudi Arabia. He loves Galatasaray like Metin Oktay."
Meanwhile, Barcelona are one such club interested in Osimhen's talents, as they are preparing for the exit of Robert Lewandowski this summer.
Reports from Turkey state that Galatasaray would not block the move but would only listen to bids of €150 million, double the €75 million they paid Napoli for his services.
