However, the Turkish champions are facing stiff resistance from the Belgian side, who remain reluctant to part with the midfielder.

Galatasaray submit formal bid for Onyedika

Following the massive success of Victor Osimhen’s arrival, first on loan last season and then in a record-breaking €75 million permanent transfer this summer, Galatasaray have turned their attention to Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika.

Turkish media report that the Istanbul giants have formally approached Club Brugge in a bid to secure the 24-year-old, whom they see as a key addition to their midfield.

Galatasaray are believed to be in the market for a physically dominant and technically sound defensive midfielder capable of coping with the intensity of European competitions.

According to Hurriyet, club officials proposed a deal structured as a €3 million loan fee with a mandatory €17 million purchase clause at the end of the season. Despite the structured offer, Club Brugge swiftly rejected the proposal, insisting on a significantly higher valuation.

Club Brugge stand firm as Onyedika shines

Club Brugge’s reluctance to sell is partly influenced by their own ambitions, with the Belgian side competing in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Sources suggest the club is unwilling to weaken their squad midway through a demanding campaign, especially with Onyedika playing an increasingly influential role.

Brugge have reportedly set their asking price at €28 million, a figure well above Galatasaray’s current offer and higher than the midfielder’s €20 million valuation on Transfermarkt.

Onyedika has been in strong form this season, featuring in 24 matches and scoring twice for the Belgian champions. His reputation has been further boosted on the international stage after an impressive showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The midfielder scored two goals for Nigeria and was named man of the match on his first start in a 3-1 win over Uganda during the Super Eagles’ final group game.
