Flight and schedule for Osimhen's early return to Turkey confirmed
Super Eagles ace Victor Osimhen is set to return to Turkey after sustaining an injury in the World Cup qualifier clash between Nigeria and Rwanda, with the private plane to take him already booked.
Osimhen ruled out for South Africa clash
As Pulse Sports reported, the 26-year-old striker has been ruled out of the decisive qualifier match against South Africa in Bloemfontein.
The former Napoli forward was forced off during Saturday’s narrow 1-0 win over Rwanda in Uyo after sustaining a shin bruise.
He limped off in the first half, leaving the team to rely on substitutes such as his replacement in the game, Cyriel Dessers, and Wolves' new striker, Toluwase Arokodare, who later scored the winning goal. Eric Chelle will have to rely on both players on Tuesday against Bafana Bafana, with Osimhen effectively ruled out.
Flight booked
Earlier today, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk confirmed that he is updated on the situation. He said that they wanted to bring Osimhen back to Turkey quickly to ascertain the extent of his injury.
According to Haberturk, a private jet has been booked to take the striker back to Istanbul. He will fly on Monday, September 8, to begin treatment.
