The venue, famed for hosting Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, promises a grand final-like atmosphere, with team arrivals and press conferences adding to the spectacle.
The decision follows months of scheduling conflicts, with the match originally slated for 2025 but postponed to 2026 due to overlapping international events.
Lusail Stadium, with its 88,000 capacity, will once again host a historic encounter, building on its legacy from the 2022 final.
The date was initially set for March 28, but FIFA moved it forward a day to Friday, March 27. The fixture depends on Spain’s direct qualification for the World Cup, which remains likely.
The Spanish Federation is also planning a second friendly match during the March international window, possibly in Doha or a nearby country, to meet UEFA’s match quota requirements.
