Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been the subject of mockery on social media after his latest post relating to the Champions League.
The 38-year-old is synonymous with the UEFA Champions League, having won the competition five times and holding the record for most goals and assists scored.
However, his move to the Saudi Pro League last year ended his dominant run in the competition; thus, his latest post attracted derision.
What Ronaldo said
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are associated with UCL football, and this evening was one such, with clashes between Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, as well as PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Dortmund scheduled.
A few hours before the kickoff of those games, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner took to social media to post a picture of himself in training with the caption “Getting ready for the Champions League match!”

The Portugal international was most likely referring to the AFC Champions League clash against fellow Saudi Arabian club AL-Fahya tomorrow, but because the timing laps with UEFA’s competition, fans saw that as an avenue to mock the five-time UCL winner.
What fans said
One fan asked, “Did you forget the full name? Deceiving your own fans eh?” A second said, El-Kanemi Champions League you mean? 😂😂”
A third said, Funnier than some of these comedians. Finished player.” A fourth went, “Champions League as how? See this shameless man.”
