The Portuguese has been a free agent since his contract expired with the Super Eagles in March 2024.

Following Peseiro's rejection, Kayserispor have appointed Bosnian coach Sergej Jakirovic as their new manager. Jakirovic will sign a one-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
Kayserispor is currently facing challenges, including a ban on registering new players in the next three transfer windows and a financial crisis.
