Ex-Juventus boss handed 16-month ban from football

On Monday, Agnelli was sanctioned by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for salary manipulation, agent relationships, and other club partnerships.

The 47-year-old will be adding this suspension to a two-year ban he was already serving for alleged financial malpractice following a capital gains case in January.

As part of the plea bargain Juventus and other past and present directors struck with the FIGC in May to bring an end to the sporting penalties for financial malpractice, he agreed to stand trial after not entering a plea bargain.

Juventus, along with other past and present directors, agreed to a fine after refusing to enter a plea bargain. 

The verdict in May ended the scandal and allowed the Bianconeri and FIGC to move on without further sanctions, such as a points deduction next season.
