Ex-Chelsea manager on Cristiano Ronaldo: ‘He’s not the best player I’ve coached’
Legendary manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has claimed Cristiano Ronaldo isn't the best player he's ever coached.
Scolari's impressive resume includes trophies with Brazil (2002 World Cup), Portugal, Chelsea, and Palmeiras.
He's worked with iconic players like Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Frank Lampard, and Didier Drogba.
Scolari says Ronaldo not the best he's coached
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's exceptional skills, Scolari, who coached Portugal from 2004 to 2008, believes he's not the greatest.
“When I coached him in the national team, it was clear that he had a lot of quality. We were very successful in our project and he was an important player in that,” Scolari told Arabic outlet Winwin, via A Bola.
“I can’t say that Cristiano is the best player I’ve ever coached because I worked with many special players who still play today.”
Ronaldo failed to score as Portugal came from behind to defeat Czech Republic in their EURO 2024 opener.
