Sevilla director Victor Orta has revealed why Ejuke is the perfect fit for Garcia Pimienta's side, highlighting the player's impressive defensive work rate and ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

"Ejuke is perfect for Sevilla because of all his qualities," Orta said on the club’s website.

"This year he has made a huge leap forward defensively, and we believe he fits the coach's system perfectly."

The Spanish club were a long-term admirer of Ejuke, who spent last season on loan at Antwerp where he registered five goals and five assists.

“We had known Ejuke since arriving in Europe and were surprised by his loan move in November,” Orta said further.

“When we found out that he would be available to sign for free, we monitored him closely for a prolonged period

"We have spoken to people who know him personally and I think he fits the coach's system perfectly," Orta added.

Sevilla announced Ejuke's arrival after they confirmed the departure of veteran defender Sergio Ramos, who leaves the club after one year following his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

The Super Eagles attacker's move to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium sees him return to one of Europe's top-five leagues after his loan stint in Germany last term.
