Egypt to include Salah in friendly game with Super Eagles despite a challenging period at Liverpool

An Anfield icon, Salah has recently found himself on the fringes of the first team under manager Arne Slot, fueling speculation about his future. 

The forward has not started in Liverpool's last three Premier League games and was left out of the squad entirely for the recent Champions League match against Inter Milan.

This has led to widespread rumours that his celebrated eight-year spell with the Premier League champions could be drawing to a close. 

Further reports suggest the relationship is strained, with claims that Salah has threatened not to return to the club after AFCON.

This has intensified transfer speculation, with clubs like Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, several Major League Soccer teams and Saudi Arabian teams reportedly monitoring his situation.

However, despite his issues with Liverpool, he is also expected to play in the upcoming friendly match against Nigeria, just before the start of the African Nations Cup.

According to Egyptian media outlet Filgoal, Salah is scheduled to join the national team's training camp on December 15. 

The coaching staff reportedly intends to play him in the preparatory match against the Super Eagles ahead of the continental tournament.

The 33-year-old forward has earned 109 caps for Egypt, including three appearances against Nigeria.

While Salah has reportedly held talks with Slot, his inclusion in the starting lineup for Saturday's league match against Brighton remains uncertain.
