D'Tigress: Super Falcons spirit embraced as Nigeria defeats DR Congo 69-35 in 2023 Women's Afrobasket opener
Defending champions Nigeria's D'Tigress are back on the trends again.
The Nigerian senior women's basketball team recorded a 69-35 against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the opening game of the 2023 Women’s Afro Basketball Championship early on Friday, July 28.
D'Tigress landed in Kigali, Rwanda, just two days before their first game, but they delivered in style.

D'Tigress started out hot as they put up 16 points to take an eight-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
DR Congo were much better in the second quarter but D'Tigress took by a 13-10 margin establishing an 11-point lead at the halftime break.

The third quarter was back and forth but D'Tigress were able to take it 17-14.
With a 14-point lead in the final quarter, D'Tigress did not relent as they recorded a massive 23-3 margin.
It turned out to be a 34-point blowout for D'Tigress in their opening game of the tournament.
D'Tigress and Super Falcons
The Super Falcons made Nigerian sports proud with a 3-2 victory against Australia in their second group game of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
It was a massive win for Women's sports and D'Tigress responded with another impressive performance in basketball.
D'Tigress at Afrobasket
The competition is scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 6 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
The Women's Afrobasket has been won by D'Tigress the last three times.
On Sunday, July 30, Nigeria will face Egypt in their second group game.
