D'Tigress will face Egypt and DR Congo in the group phase at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket

In Maputo, Mozambique, the draws for the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket, which Rwanda will host, were held on Friday, June 10, 2023.

Defending champions Nigeria's D'Tigress are in Group D along with Egypt, and the DR Congo.

Uganda's Gazelles are in Group C against the 11-time reigning champion Senegal, whose most recent triumph was in 2015, and the 2007 champion Mali.

In Group A, Rwanda, and Angola will face off against the winner of the Zone 3 qualifying competition

Cameroon and Mozambique are in Group C, and a Wild Card in Uganda will also be present.

The group's victor will automatically go to the competition's semifinals.

Every team will have the opportunity to battle for a place in the last eight as the next two teams will cross groups and compete in a playoff for a quarterfinal position.

From July 28 to August 6 at Kigali Arena, the tournament's 26th edition will be played.

The participation of D'Tigress at the 2023 Afrobasket Women's tournament comes after a ban on basketball by former President Muhammadu Buhari that prevented the team from competing at the 2022 FIBA Women's World Cup.
