Disappointing Barcelona held to 0-0 draw by Girona

Barcelona missed the chance to go 15 points clear at the top of La Liga as they were held to a goalless draw against mid-table Girona at Camp Nou.

Barcelona seemed to struggle to shake off the feeling of being humbled by Real Madrid in midweek as they failed to really get going in the opening stages. 

When they eventually did create anything of note, they were denied by Paulo Gazzaniga, who repelled Raphinha and then Ronald Araujo in quick succession. 

Barcelona began the second half like the first, lots of possession but no real penetration. 

Girona wasted a glorious chance to take the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Taty Castellanos was played through on goal but shot wide when a simple pass to a teammate would have been the better option.
