Hearn on Whyte vs Joshua
There has been pressure on Joshua to bounce back from back-to-back losses against Ukranian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
British sports promoter and chairman of Matchroom boxing Edward Hearn has reiterated that Joshua needs a victory against Franklin.
In an interview with Talksport, Hearn stated that should Joshua win they are already looking at some top fighters in the heavyweight division next.
He said, “I think he has three options; Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, and Dillian Whyte.
“I don’t think there’s any disgrace off the back of the Usyk fight going Jermaine Franklin, Dillian Whyte, and then Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.
“That’s a hell of a 2023.”
Dillian Whyte calls out Anthony Joshua
British professional boxer Dillian Whyte has called out Joshua for a rematch after he defeats Franklin.
Joshua defeated Whyte in seven rounds back in December 2015 to retain the WBC International and Commonwealth heavyweight titles and win the vacant British heavyweight title.
Since then Joshua and Whyte contested for world titles rising to the top of the heavyweight division.
Whyte defeated Franklin via unanimous decision after 12 rounds of action back in November 2022 at the OVO Arena Wembley, London, England.
The body snatcher however wants a rematch with Joshua if he is able to overcome Franklin also.
In a recent interview, he said, "I want a chance to redeem myself.
"He keeps playing the video of him knocking me out years and years ago. I want revenge, I want revenge."
A fight between Whyte and Joshua will be a massive battle of Britain that will draw a stadium crowd.
Joshua takes on Franklin at the 02 Arena in London on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
