'Different year, Different approach' - Sha'Carri Richardson postpones season's debut at Miramar Invitational
World 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson will no longer make her 2024 season's debut at the Miramar Invitational on April 6th, and instead will postpone her first individual race appearance of the year to a later date.
Richardson was scheduled to compete in the 100m and 200m but will no longer do that, stating her reasons via a video announcement on her Instagram story.
"I will not be competing this weekend in Miramar, so I don't want everybody there to hope so. Definitely, it's going to be a great meet, great athletes, and everything that will be there, but I will not be one of those athletes this weekend.
"Different year, different approach, different energy to come," said the world's fastest woman.

Now unavailable this year, it isn't public when she will officially run her first race this season, although she's listed to compete in the 200m at Xiamen Diamond League on April 20th.
