‘Class is forever’ - CAF backs Mohamed Salah amid Liverpool–Slot tensions
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has thrown its weight behind Mohamed Salah, reaffirming its admiration for the Liverpool forward as discussions continue around his relationship with manager Arne Slot.
The Liverpool forward expressed feeling "thrown under the bus" after being dropped to the bench for the team's past three games, including being left out of the squad for Tuesday's Champions League match at Inter Milan.
This statement has sparked intense criticism from former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher and ex-Blackburn and Celtic striker Chris Sutton, who label his comments as "disgraceful" and "selfish".
Salah's remarks come after Liverpool's struggles, with the team winning just four of their past 15 games in all competitions.
Manager Arne Slot has expressed surprise at Salah's comments, stating that he has "no clue" if the 33-year-old will play for the club again.
