Chukwueze started against Newcastle but failed to make any real impact, before being hooked on the hour mark.

After the game, Pioli assured fans that the season was long and Chukwueze would get plenty of chances to shine.

“Musah, Loftus, and Chuku need to play. They were ready and needed game time. With matches every three days, they will get their chances,” he said.

Milan will now turn their attention to Serie A action on the weekend against Verona.
