Chelsea prepares new bid for Amorim's outcast as Madueke's replacement
The 21-year-old is reportedly one of five players who have informed the Red Devils of their intention to depart.
The Argentine winger has a strained relationship with manager Ruben Amorim and has already stated that his future lies away from Manchester.
Chelsea wants Garnacho
Chelsea has reopened negotiations for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, according to reports in the English press, via Abola.
The Blues showed interest in Garnacho during the January transfer window, and according to TBR Football, the Blues are continuing to monitor his situation.
Garnacho's representatives are actively seeking a new club for the player, and the London club reportedly recently spoke with his agents about a potential transfer.
Chelsea has already bolstered its attack this summer with Liam Delap, João Pedro, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, but manager Enzo Maresca is still keen to add further reinforcements to his forward line.
Noni Madueke is close to a move to Arsenal – the Telegraph even suggested a swap deal involving Madueke and Garnacho – and the Blues are also hoping to offload Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, and João Félix, who has been linked with Benfica. If these players depart, it will create space for new arrivals, and the funds could be invested in Garnacho.
According to the same source, Aston Villa are also in the race for the young talent, but the player may prefer Chelsea due to the prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League. He has reportedly already rejected a proposal from Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr, now to be managed by Jorge Jesus.
Last season, the Argentine scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions, and it appeared he was set to become a key player for Amorim.
However, their relationship deteriorated towards the end of the season after Garnacho came on as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League final loss to Tottenham and was subsequently left out of the squad for the final game against Aston Villa. Amorim has always hinted at a lack of commitment from the player.
It is alleged that Garnacho was humiliated in front of his teammates, and he further irked United fans this summer by posting a picture on social media wearing a Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name on the back.
Manchester United are reportedly seeking around £40 million (€46 million) for the winger, a fee that shouldn't be a problem for Chelsea.
