The headline tie sees Real Madrid drawn against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica, marking a dramatic return to Madrid for the Portuguese coach in what promises to be one of the most talked-about matchups of the play-offs.

Osimhen and Lookman handed difficult tests

Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman were both handed daunting assignments in the playoff draw.

Osimhen’s Galatasaray will face Italian giants Juventus, a tie that pits the Nigerian striker against one of Europe’s most experienced Champions League sides and offers a return to Italy.

Lookman’s Atalanta, whose squad could still change before the window closes, were drawn against 2024 finalists Borussia Dortmund.

The German side bring pedigree and history in the competition, making it a stern test for the Bergamo club and for Lookman, should he remain with Atalanta for the European fixtures.

Meanwhile, Raphael Onyedika's Club Brugge will also be going against the odds after being paired with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
