CAF CC: Aucho to face Watenga in semis as Yanga, Marumo continue with fairytale

Young Africans and CCC beat the odds to reach the semi-final of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Uganda Cranes duo of Khalid Aucho and Ismail Watenga will be at loggerheads when Young Africans and Marumo Gallants clash in the semi-finals of the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup.

Both clubs made history over the weekend by progressing to the last four for the first time respectively.

Young Africans held to their 2-0 lead from the first leg in Nigeria to oust Rivers United after a barren draw in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday.

Royal Bafokeng Stadium in South Africa, Watenga was unused as his side beat Pyramids from Egypt 1-0 to win the tie 2-1 over two legs.

Celimpilo Ngema scored the all-important goal that took the side to their first-ever continental semi-final.

The two sides will battle on May 10th and 17th this month for a chance to write more history and reach the final.

In the other semi-final. ASEC Mimosa from Ivory Coast will face USM Alger in Abidjan and Algeria respectively.

The final will be played on May 28th.
