CAF CC: Aucho to face Watenga in semis as Yanga, Marumo continue with fairytale
Uganda Cranes duo of Khalid Aucho and Ismail Watenga will be at loggerheads when Young Africans and Marumo Gallants clash in the semi-finals of the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup.
Both clubs made history over the weekend by progressing to the last four for the first time respectively.
Young Africans held to their 2-0 lead from the first leg in Nigeria to oust Rivers United after a barren draw in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday.
Royal Bafokeng Stadium in South Africa, Watenga was unused as his side beat Pyramids from Egypt 1-0 to win the tie 2-1 over two legs.
Celimpilo Ngema scored the all-important goal that took the side to their first-ever continental semi-final.
The two sides will battle on May 10th and 17th this month for a chance to write more history and reach the final.
In the other semi-final. ASEC Mimosa from Ivory Coast will face USM Alger in Abidjan and Algeria respectively.
The final will be played on May 28th.
Final four. For the first time in history.
