Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg are reportedly exploring a late move for Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika as the winter transfer window fast approaches its deadline on February.
The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Belgian side, starring domestically in the UEFA Champions League. This has earned him interest from multiple clubs, recently Wolfsburg, whose sporting director, Pirmin Schwegler, is in talks to identify the conditions required to complete a deal before the window closes.
Wolfsburg race against time for Onyedika
According to Florian Plettenberg, Wolfsburg are the latest to join the race to sign the 24-year-old defensive midfielder from Club Brugge.
Clubs including Eintracht Frankfurt have monitored him previously, and Galatasaray also expressed interest, with Victor Osimhen confirming he attempted to convince the midfielder, though no official bids were submitted.
Brugge hold Onyedika in high regard and have him under contract until June 2027. His market value sits at roughly €20 million, with Blauw-Zwart understood to be reluctant to lose such an important player mid-season, especially as they remain in contention domestically and in the Champions League.
