Bukayo Saka: 5 amazing things the Arsenal star achieved in Nigeria
A few days ago England international football star of Nigerian descent, Bukayo Saka, visited Lagos, Nigeria.
Pulse Sports reported that On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, the 21-year-old forward touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Saka comes to Lagos on vacation for several reasons following the conclusion of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
According to The Lagos Voice, Saka was born to Nigerian immigrants in the United Kingdom, Saka has always been tipped to wear the green and white of the Super Eagles but chose to represent England the country where he was born.
Saka took to his official Instagram account to state that he is departing Lagos.
The youngster posted a video on his official social media account detailing his time in Lagos.
Along with the video was a message in Yoruba that said, "E se gan 🙏🏿."
That was not the first time Saka would caption his video in Yoruba as when he visited Bariga he did so also.
He also added, "Thank you Lagos! I appreciate all the love you showed me whilst I was here. Until next time…"

Saka enjoined his stay in Nigeria where he was able to achieve the following:
1. Visited Lagos State Governor, Sanwo Olu
During Saka's time in Lagos, he met up with two-term Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Saka during the meeting presented Governor Sanwo-Olu with his 2022/23 season jersey.
Saka, who modeled the new Arsenal and Adidas home jerseys for the 2023/24 season, is a fan favorite and is also expected to have a meet and greet with fans before leaving.
2. Saka Visited Bariga
A day after his arrival, Saka, who is recognized for having a significant impact on Arsenal's Premier League finish as runner-up to eventual champion Manchester City, paraded around Lagos.
Saka visited Bariga, Lagos, but followers on social media mistook him for someone in Egbeda, causing them to spread the rumor that the young man was in the Egbeda region of the state.
3. Saka meets Arsenal fans in Lagos
During his stay in Lagos, Saka met with Arsenal fans at the W-bar, Ikoyi where he shared his experiences with the Gunners this season.
During the interaction, Saka revealed that he is proud to be an Ijebu boy.
The Premier League said that he is very proud of his heritage in Nigeria, adding that he hails from Ijebu Ode in Ogun state.
4. Saka Assured Arsenal fans in Nigeria of a good outing in the Champions League
He told fans that Arsenal is ready for next season as they will return to the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal’s last appearance in the Champions League was during the 2016/17 season, in what was their 17th consecutive campaign in the tournament and the seventh in a row that they had exited at the round of 16 stages.
5. Saka visited Kwara State
With few days for Saka to depart Nigeria, pictures are flying that the Arsenal striker visited his grandparents in Oro, Kwara state, North Central, Nigeria.
Saka was spotted taking a photograph with his grandparents alongside his brother on @Abiodun_A_Bello’s Twitter handle.
