'Boca Juniors clash will be the highlight of the group stage' - Bayern Munich manager Kompany reveals
The German Bundesliga champions began their Club World Cup campaign in a remarkable fashion.
Bayern thrashed Auckland City 10-0 in their opening Club World Cup group stage match.
What Kompany said
Manager Vincent Kompany has spoken ahead of their upcoming clash with the Brazilian team Boca Juniors, via Abola.
"Our next match against Boca Juniors will be the highlight of the group stage. It's a clash of European and South American tradition.
"Even if I wasn't Bayern's manager, I'd want to watch this game. It's going to be special," he remarked in a press conference.
Kompany was also questioned about the possibility of Kingsley Coman, who scored twice against Auckland City, retaining his starting spot for the matches against Boca Juniors and Benfica.
"I'm not thinking about that right now. We can't forget he's a player who scores important goals. People often look at overall stats, but he's scored vital goals throughout the club's history.
"Today, all of our attacking players performed well. If Coman maintains this form, we'll have a top-quality forward," Kompany added.
