France international Kingsley Coman wrote his name in history as the first goalscorer of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup en route to inspiring Bayern Munich’s overwhelming 10-0 victory over Auckland FC in Cincinnati.

The French winger, 29, opened the scoring in the sixth minute after a slick combination with new Bayern defender Jonathan Tah, heading home Tah’s knockdown to ignite the Bavarian onslaught on Sunday evening.

Bayern’s early domination and Coman’s impact

Coman didn’t stop at just the opener; he extended Bayern’s lead in the 21st minute following earlier goals from Sacha Boey and Michael Olise to give the Bavarians a comfortable 4-0 lead inside the opening half an hour. 

The German giants dominated from the start, with Coman and Olise each scoring twice, while Boey and Thomas Müller also found the net, giving Bayern a commanding 5-0 lead at halftime.

Coman, who also picked up an assist after setting up Boey with another fantastic knockdown, featured for just 46 minutes before he was replaced by former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.

Hat-trick hero Musiala seals the rout

After the break, Jamal Musiala came off the bench just after the hour mark and delivered a stunning hat-trick, further extending Bayern’s lead. 

Musiala came off the bench to score a hattrick.

Müller added his second goal late on to complete the rout, sealing a comprehensive win and sending a strong message to the rest of the competition. 

Coman’s historic first goal set the tone for Bayern’s dominant display, with Vincent Kompany’s men showing their attacking ability in superb fashion and at the biggest stage.
