Bayern vs Man Utd: We did not win because of me — Andre Onana speaks about his terrible mistake
Andre Onana has raised his hand in guilt and accepted blame for Manchester United’s defeat to Bayern Munich, saying he let the team down.
The Red Devils suffered a 4-3 defeat away at the Allianz Arena to Thomas Tuchel's side in their Champions League group stage opener, and Onana has accepted culpability for the part he played in the loss.
The match in brief
The visitors started brightly, but it was the hosts who took the lead after Andre Onana failed to deal with a tame shot from Leroy Sane.
Buoyed by the opener, Bayern took control of the game, and only four minutes after the gift from Onana, Serge Gnabry made it two for the Munich-based team.
Rasmus Hojlund pulled one back for Ten Hag's team at the start of the second-half, but in the 52nd minute Bayern Munich were handed a penalty, and Harry Kane fired past the Manchester United goalie.

Casemiro sought to inspire a comeback, scoring in the 88th minute, but Bayern restored the two-goal lead thanks to a Mathijs Tel strike in the 92nd minute, causing a 95th-minute goal by the Brazilian to be inconsequential.
Onana admits to costly error
Speaking after the game, the Cameroon international recognised how his error swung momentum against his team, admitting his fault.
He also spoke to a broader timeline—his entire Manchester United career so far, which he says has not gone well. Onana has now conceded 15 goals in only six games for Manchester United this season.
"It's difficult. We started very good. After my mistake, we lost control of the game. It's a difficult situation for us, for me,” Onana told TNT Sport, per the BBC.
"The team were one down because of that mistake. I have to learn from it and be strong. I'm happy with the comeback of the team.
"I have a lot to prove. My start in Manchester hasn't been so good, not how I want. This was one of my worst games. We have big ambition. It's a tough time. We have to be together and work hard."
