Fortunately, the diagnosis proved incorrect, and the Tech3 KTM rider recovered in time for the Czech Grand Prix.
He delivered an excellent sprint race performance in Brno, securing third place – his first podium finish with KTM since joining the Austrian team at the start of the year.
"It's incredible to be here after everything that happened last week. But here we are, and I want to enjoy this podium, my first with KTM."
