The Nigerian striker was introduced late in the match during the 74th minute, replacing Mauro Icardi, but he was unable to find the back of the net, maintaining his tally of two goals this season.

Despite the limited impact, Osimhen's appearance signaled his ongoing effort to regain form and influence at the club, especially after a successful international break.

Meanwhile, Osimhen finds himself in a redemption battle as he trails another Nigerian forward in the league's goal-scoring chart in the Super Lig.

Paul Onuachu, who plays for Trabzonspor, has been in fine form, scoring five more goals than Osimhen this season and continuing to be a vital player for his title-contending team.

Onuachu's strong start contrasts with Osimhen's quieter return to club football following his heroics for Nigeria against Benin Republic.

Galatasaray benefited from the influence of Leroy Sane, the former Manchester City star, who played a key role, scoring both goals, in the win at Basaksehir.

For Osimhen, the challenge lies ahead to close the goal gap and re-establish himself as a crucial attacking option as the season progresses.

His battle for redemption is set against the backdrop of intense competition both within his club and among fellow Nigerian strikers in the Turkish league.
