Barcelona reunion continues as Jordi Alba joins Messi and Busquets in MLS
MLS side Inter Miami announced the signing of former Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba, with the Spanish defender set to join former teammates Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami had already brought former Barcelona players Busquets and Messi to the club, welcoming them with a massive ceremony.
They have continued the Barcelona reunion after signing Alba, who left the Blaugrana alongside Busquets at the end of the 2022/23 season, foregoing the last year of his contract.
After leaving Barcelona, Alba was linked with a move to rivals Atletico Madrid, but instead, he joined up with his former teammates at Inter Miami.

Inter Miami announced Alba with a statement published on Twitter along with a message on the club’s website.

The statement on the website said, “Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Spanish national team defender Jordi Alba to a contract through the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, with a Club option for 2025. The one-time UEFA Euro winner, UEFA Champions League winner, UEFA Nations League winner, and six-time LaLiga winner, regarded as one of the world’s best left-backs, is expected to join the team in the coming days.”
Alba was also referred to as “an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player that we’re excited to acquire” by Inter Miami’s Chief Soccer Director and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
The defender signed a contract for two years with Inter Miami, with an option for a third year.
