Barcelona are reportedly in pole position to land Levante striker Karl Etta-Eyong, with the Cameroon U-23 international said to prioritise a move to the Blaugrana.

The 21-year-old has been on a tear in LALIGA this season, with five goals and three assists in eight matches. This has placed him on the radar of a number of clubs, but the player wants Barcelona, according to reports.

The details

The Blaugrana made a late effort in the summer to sign Etta-Eyong, but their wagebill limitations prevented them from acquiring the striker said to be favoured by sporting director Deco.

He was also desired by clubs in the Premier League and Valencia in LALIGA. However, he opted to join Levante, prioritising game time and his development.

He is proving to be the real deal, with eight goal contributions so far, including a goal against Real Madrid, and Barcelona are said to maintain their interest.

According to Dario Sport, Karl is also keen on the move, and while his representatives are braced for a slew of offers next summer, they will prioritise an offer from the Blaugrana.

However, they will have to splash the cash, as he has a release clause of €30 million. With Rashford’s purchase option also around that price, a €60 million outlay next summer could prove untenable given the LALIGA champions’ finances.
