"Take my girlfriend!!!" - Barcelona hero Marcus Rashford sparks reactions after CRUSHING Newcastle

Marcus Rashford arrived at St.James' Park with expectation and left it in tatters.

The on-loan Manchester United forward produced a second half brace to officially open his Barcelona account for the season, and fire his side to a 2–1 victory against Newcastle.

A brilliant header in the 58th minute and a thunderous drive from the edge of the box in the 67th minute, was enough for Barca to secure the victory in the opening game of their Champions League campaign.

Newcastle rallied late through Anthony Gordon but it only proved a consolation as Hansi Flick’s side picked up maximum points.

Flick’s gamble to trust the 27-year-old star in Lamine Yamal’s absence paid off spectacularly. 

The Barcelona manager had openly backed Rashford in the build up, saying: “I really follow Marcus since he started with Manchester United… he has speed, one on one, and finishing — it is unbelievable.” 

Social media exploded as soon as Rashford struck with some fans echoing the same hilarious sentiment.

Barcelona supporters basked in a performance that mixed flair with ruthless finishing, while Manchester United fans were conflicted watching a player they once relied on, with some openly questioning their club’s decision making over the summer.
