The Group B encounter, staged at Stade Lycee Scientifique, saw the Eaglets dominate proceedings from kickoff, piling constant pressure on the Burkinabes.

Despite their attacking intent, Nigeria’s forwards could not find a way past the resilient defence of Burkina Faso, who relied on quick counter-attacks that were also effectively neutralised by the Nigerian backline.

At the end of 90 minutes, the deadlock remained unbroken, leaving both sides to settle for a point.

Golden Eaglets’ winger Boluwatife Thompson emerged as the standout performer, dazzling with his dribbling skills and sharp football intelligence.

His relentless runs troubled the Burkinabe defenders throughout the contest, earning him the Man of the Match award.
